Week 48 - Going to Be Transferred!

Hooooooooooooola!!

Sounds like a super-eventful week! I'm sorry to hear about Brother Leavitt. He was a great man. I loved talking with and working around him, when Justin and I would go over there and do some intense yardwork. I didn't know Brother Cress, either, but it's good to know that both are in a place completely free of pain or injury, and that they can do the work the Lord has called them to on the other side. There's never an end to service in the Lord's Army!

I loved the pictures from the Helping Hands day and Dave and Gabby's wedding!!!! Waaaaay awesome (and fun!)!! What made them decide to wear kilts? And how was it seeing Brent and Paij again? It's been a little while, hasn't it? Where are they at right now?

Congrats, Kaytlin!!! (Kaytlin is Valedictorian at her school this year.) That's a HUGE deal!! And with Dad up there (as school board member), possibly, as well, that could be really fun! If you type up your speech, you should send me a copy of it so that I can read it as well! And that would be cool if both Kaytlin and Jessica can speak during the same time!

Keep up the good work, Justin! And remember - HAVE FUN (at the Prom)! The time you're at right now (wow, I sound like some old guy!) is a great time for hanging out, dating, and just having a RIGHTEOUS time! (Haha "Welcome to the EAC!") Maybe you could even make dinner and serve it at someone's house! Is it going to be a group thing?

And Dad - How is it going with balancing everything? That's got to be a crazy schedule! Just always remember to prioritize. That can be the hardest thing to do sometimes, but with the family first as you've always put it, everything else seems to sort itself out. It looked like you and Justin were having fun putting those base beams down in the picture mom sent! Keep up being an AWESOME Padre!

This is it! The Lord is kickin' me out of Kemah. It's been a good time. I've really loved working with Elder Jones. He has a unique personality, but he has a really fun personality. I'm going to miss him, but I'm also interested to see in which ways I'll be growing this next transfer.

Well, not a bad week, and overall, a great transfer!
The Lord has really blessed us with new people to teach, and He has helped us to find those who are willing to listen. It has been amazing to see the questions some of these people have, and how the Gospel applies exactly to their needs. I've come to realize so much more what the Gospel means to me, and how important it is that Jesus Christ died for us, but also that He rose again, so that he can bless, uplift, and help us.
I'm really glad to have work with Elder Jones over these past few short weeks. Time has flown by! He has been such a great help, and I want to be so much better because of him. I'm glad that he has had the patience to help me begin to overcome some of my personal weeknesses and challenges. This past week has been great - I feel that we've increased our unity so much more and that as we've really been working at that, our area has been improving as well. I hadn't really thought on that before, that the success of our area is at least partly dependant (and I think that's actually a big understatement) on the unity we have as a companionship. I really wish that I could spend more time with Elder Jones, to continue learning and growing, as well as spending time with a good friend. But I know the Lord needs us where He needs us, and that as we get to work and serve Him, He will bless us, and the lives of others through our service as missionaries.

We're working with a family who has begun to show more interest in the Church recently, though they have to become married as well. We feel that she has received her response, because as she prayed her expression changed when she asked if attending the Church each week was something that the Lord wanted her to do. We just need to help her obtain the true intent to act on that answer she has received, so her entire family can begin to progress.

The Andrade/Sanchez family is still great, but within the time that the divorce has been taking, they've begun to slip into 'inactivity,' if a non-member can do that. We're just hoping that they keep up with working on it, even if it's going slower than it should.

There is a lot of good starting to come out of Kemah, and I'm excited to see these people begin to progress towards baptism and the Kingdom of God.

And over the past little while, I've been AMAZED to see just how much I've learned, both about the Gospel and about the Spanish language. More or less, I can communicate with people in a language I started learning less than a year ago. How does that happen? Although, I guess I can answer that question already: The Lord is ever mindful of the people we teach, and of our own weaknesses, and how He can help us to overcome them and help bring His children unto Him.
The time that we have in the morning to study is such a great time as well. It's specifically devoted to Him and how we can better help His children, and I don't think I've ever learned (really learned and internalized) so much before in my life!

Well, I've got to go. I love you, and I'm looking forward to talking to you on Sunday!

Con Mucho amor - a infinidad, y mas alla!
